Q: What’s the planning cycle?
A: We start thinking about the next generation before we shipped the Xbox 360. It doesn’t start with a date. It starts way upstream with silicon development. From that comes a series of data points. You start making early technology choices. It’s an evolving thing. Stuff doesn’t become concrete until you get inside a window of when you have to ship, more than 18 months or so out.
As for the Wii 2… we are just hoping that this thing arrives as the Wii was just plain genious and changed the way people play games.

Robert… propper (or better) grammar please. Aside of that, I really am not sure of which console will be the better one next generation. But if anything… they have the chance to all just go flops on us all… although unlikely.
As for which will get here first… it all depends on the technology being used on the console, with the PS3’s leading the charge in that sense. Obviously, the “PS4″ will likely have the improved version of that current state-of-the-art technology if not sporting some new new tech within itself… the same would go for the “Xbox 3″. I still don’t kow about Nintendo and it’s porrible “Second Revolution”.

I think microsoft may continue the trend of releasing consoles before the opposition to obtain market saturation. PS4 may not be as far behind this time around, though.
And i hope Nintendo tries to keep it’s console relatively close in power, so that cross-platform games don’t need to undergo such a radical change from the PS and Xbox versions as compared to this generation. The wii is so horribly underpowered, and Nintendo tried to camoflage this with a gimmicky control scheme.
