I had a hunt around for PS4 concept designs the other day and didn’t find much at all. Anything I did find was just old PS3 concepts with the number 3 scrubbed out.
When do you think the concepts will start rolling in as to how the PS4 will look? It seems that the target for electronics now is a black, polished, shiny type look like the new LG TV’s and the PS3. Will the designs follow suit in 3 - 4 years time? or are we looking at some way of hiding or integrating the PS4 with other technology in the home? It could be that there is no physical medium to play games from meaning that no access to the device is really needed and thus, it can be hid in a book shelf.
What’s everyone’s thoughts on this?
Maybe we should hold a competition for the best PS4 concept design. Let me know what you think of that idea.

i believe that that would be an outstanding idea and i believe that the ps4 could be a truly wonderful idea and if it lives up to its expectations to what i have heard from my recent gaming meetings and from you i shall be one very happy customer in years to come when this product is released.
PS4 will be so much better than the xbox 720 and if so PS3

Okay its just an idea but how about a TV that has the PS4 built in, like a DVD player.
I also hope that Sony will develope the motion sensor remotes more as they dont utalise them as much as they could, and we know it works just look at the Wii.

i got a ps3 and i am getting a 400gb hd nexted month internal hd and 40 blue ray movies and 14 ps3 games when the set top box comes nexted year its going to kill exbox360 and the 720 go bye one its wicked on warhark games lol

and i hope there will be more exclusives on the ps3 next year.
I think that sony will win in the next gen war, microsoft will be secound and for nintendo.. i cant say for sure if there still on dvd then no, microsoft has the money and well there great at style and stuff even if they fail at a few outher things… you will have to wate and see for your self these are just my thoughts
ps3 is the most sexual thing ever made, could you imagine… call of duty 8 on the ps4, how amazing would that be!!!
i think the next ps3 should have some kind of a built in multi disc changer and some kind of a digital read out on the front
I have a humble 40 gb ps3 and it kicks my mates 360 elites ass! I have to say, i really like it but i’d like to see better internet stuff. e.g. FLASH PLAYER!!!!! on the ps4
P.S. Wiis suck for REAL gaming and xboxes are alright
Personally, i think the PS4 should be more like a laptop. Bigger screens but portabl. You put the game in, turn it on, Plug in a wirless controler and just play anywhere.
i think it would need these things:
blu ray or better if available in 2012, imagine green ray!
flash 10 >, motion sensing and as for ps3s playstation eye, what if it were wireless, had wifi, 4 motorised legs and a panel that opens up with a 3″ screen, joystick and buttons, maybe even remote play! a walking spherical camera that opens up and plays you ps4 videos, pictures etc, i would sooo buy that, going back to the console and not its acessories maybe it could have backwards compatibility and the original RSX graphics card but instead 3 of them and each of them have more than double the original GDDR3 VRAM and quadruple the processing power, as for the cell processor, 40 cores and a secondary AMD anthlon multi core 8.0 ghz processor if available at that time and possibly a pair of gloves that detect where the fingertips are so you can hold a model gun, load it with bb pellets and the character would mimic that with his ak47, i love my ps3 and i know no console is the best and no console ever will be but this would bring it very close, take that microsoft / nintendo fanboys LOL
my thought on ps4 are as follows no.1 processor speeds trippled, this would enable graphics twice as great and also cut loading times to hopefully nothing but this would obviously depend on the media on which the game is stored. No. 2 storage media. hard disk drives are slow noisy and generate a lot of heat. The future medium is ssd solid state drives. No noise less heat less power consumption and greater read/write speeds. if it is possible to embed the disk or disks onto the motherboard then this would reduce the bottle neck effect further. No 3 games would be download only, with an option to purchase a ps4 without a disk drive saving space and money. No 4 browser. fully up to date upgradable with all plugins and with the option to download diffrent browers for example firefox No 5 bluetooth. improved performance in this area to enable mobile phones to transfer all media quick and simply. thankyou
PS4 Specifications I’d like to see:
2-3Gb XDRRAM
4 Cell Processors With Updated 10 SPE’s each.
An advanced RSX GPU, possibly two of them using SLI tech.
Blu-Ray Drive read 6x (PS3 drive is horribly slow[2x] = Mandatory Installs)
5 USB ports for 4 controllers and 1 multimedia device
HDMI x2 [like originally promised]
And idc if there is a small power brick, MAKE THE CONSOLE SMALLER

You Should Have A Better Bluetooth Device Where You Can Send Pictures N Music To You Friends Phone. There Should Be A Led Light In The Ps4 Where You Can Choose You Own Light To Modify The Ps4. I think a lot of people only call it the XBox 720 as we don’t know the official name yet. If you feel strongly about a new name perhaps suggest it and we may follow
(or not). But i disagree about your console positions, for me PS3 is best, then XBox then Wii.
I do very much like the XBox, but find it to be getting dated very fast. I love Gears of War, but honestly, how much better does gears 2 look? Not a lot…you’d think they could do better after 2 years!
