It seems that perhaps Anonymous has a heart after all as they have now ceased their cyber attack on Sony’s PSN.

The hacker group calling themselves ‘Anonymous’ had previously turned their attention to Sony due to the group’s perceived view that the corporation in question is attempting to halt the spread of ‘free information’ via it’s filing of a court case against the hacker who calls himself ‘GeoHot’.

Killzone 3 came out last month on the 22nd and was met with critical acclaim and great reviews. Action is great, story is great, characters are great. Ok, so I love the game, especially the jetpacks but I’m certainly not the first and won’t be the last to say that. To add to the multiplayer side of things, new DLC will be making it’s way to the PS3, just to let you know. [click to continue…]

Crysis 2 still on top

by Martyn on April 6, 2011 · 0 comments

Beating the likes of Motorstorm Apocolypse whcih didn’t even get into the top ten with Zumba Fitness and Lego Star War III: The Clone Wars coming in second and third places respectively, Crysis 2 has been enthroned in the topspot yet again for a second week.

While Homefront, though including a great multiplayer experience, falls short from it’s campaign mode, so this comes in at number 5. That said, Homefront is still an intriguing look into an alternate future USA. [click to continue…]

[UPDATE] – We reported yesterday on news of Anonymous not being too happy with the way Sony have been dealing with the their case against a certain miscreant for making public, the information necessary for PS3 owners to jailbreak their consoles to allow, amongst other things, to install games directly to the hard drive.

Now though, timing seems rather coincidental as Sony’s PlayStation Network has been undergoing sporadic maintenance as users have been complaining of a breakdown in the service. [click to continue…]

by Martyn on April 1, 2011 · 0 comments

Well it’s been a few days since it’s ‘arrival’ and I’ve had a few playthroughs and though it is by no means the greatest DLC I’ve played on Mass Effect 2, the story surrounding it definitely adds to the Mass Effect universe.

P.S. One or two spoilers ahead… [click to continue…]

Treyarch aren’t the only one’s who don’t much like cheaters on their Call of Duty games as Crytek are already working hard in keeping gamers making good use of exploits found during online multiplayer matches on Crysis 2.

Crytek made good on the release of their sequel to the original PC best-seller, though much like other multiplayer games already mentioned, people have been complaining about other users spoiling the online experience. [click to continue…]

We recently reported that Microsoft were recruiting guinea pigs for a new firmware update for their Xbox 360 console. As an incentive, they were going to be giving away free copies of Halo: Reach (were there even that many xbox gamers that didn’t buy Halo: Reach already??)

As well as the afore mentioned, it was also noted that the Xbox developers would be making some changes to their current disc format. The particulars were unknown.

[Update] – News has now materialised reporting on the big ‘M’ creating additional storage space on their dual-layer dvd’s. [click to continue…]
