I have a few alerts set up with my email client so that whenever words or phrases, such as ‘Playstation 4′, ‘Xbox 720′ or ‘Wii 2′, are mentioned anywhere on the world wide web, I get pinged with the web address of the articles or other news posts that contain them.
It seems that someone has opened up another can of worms now that I have been inundated with alerts from all over the internet concerning possible release dates for both the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4. [Read more...]
We spoke of Black Ops’ latest piece of downloadable content that was mistakenly outed by a retailer in Australia towards the beginning of the month. However, we are now able to divulge a little more information as well as a preview trailer of Escalation.

It was a couple or so weeks ago when we first reported on Microsoft requesting Xbox fans to volunteer for it’s beta update preview test.
Where many gamers would more simply receive the information necessary via their own Xbox LIVE account, many others have also been sent a single disc containing both a free copy of Halo: Reach as well as the Xbox Preview itself. [Read more...]
According to IGN and Techradar, free-to-play Xbox LIVE games could be landing as soon as next year if Microsoft get their way.
Seeing as how well other social networking sites have done with the likes of Mafia Wars for example, and dare I say it… Farmville too, this kind of in-game payment system could be coming to our Xbox consoles in the very near future. [Read more...]
Sonic’s been around for quite a while now, 20 years in fact and to celebrate that anniversary SEGA has released a teaser trailer via the blue hedgehog’s own Facebook page.
20 years is a long time and is definitely a testament to Sonic’s creators in producing this gaming icon of the last century. The list of games with his name in the title is pretty extensive to say the least and some considerably better than others. [Read more...]
It seems that GAME Australia spoke sooner than it should’ve done as details of a new map pack have been released a little prematurely.
Given the title ‘Escalation’, you’ll get to shoot til’ your heart’s content across maps including The Zoo, Convoy, Hotel, Stockpile and a zombie map dubbed “Call of the Dead”. It seems though, that this new information came perhaps a little earlier than it should have done as the details we have so far, came from the GAME website in Australia had later got pulled from the site. We recently reported that Microsoft were recruiting guinea pigs for a new firmware update for their Xbox 360 console. As an incentive, they were going to be giving away free copies of Halo: Reach (were there even that many xbox gamers that didn’t buy Halo: Reach already??)
As well as the afore mentioned, it was also noted that the Xbox developers would be making some changes to their current disc format. The particulars were unknown.

Can our videogames survive on great visuals alone?
The list of games with great visuals is actually longer than you think with such games including the obvious Crysis and Cysis 2 as well as including a few others such as, Borderlands, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Uncharted 2, Killzone 3 and either of the Gears of War games.
If you have ever wondered what it would be like if you were able to use Microsoft’s Kinect on Sony’s PlayStation 3 then wonder no more.
Someone clever cloggs who goes by the name of shantzg001 has uploaded a video on his own efforts in porting the camera over to the PS3.
