Its all very well that PS3 gamers have been left to fend for themselves since the PSN was orignally downed 6 days ago. Granted, Sony have to be losing out too as gamers are unable to download new content including movies and the hugely popular PSX classic titles. But what about the humble, independent games developers?

Indie games are certainly a niche market but that said, they’re still very popular amongst many different PS3 gamers, from the casual to the hardcore. Developers including Q-games have spoken out of the impact that the continued and seemingly unending PSN downtime has had on them. [click to continue…]

Since the widely publicized outage over at the PlayStation Network and the possibility of said outage lasting for at least another 24-48 hours, many gamers have taken to threatening Sony with a PS3 boycott and head over to the Xbox 360 as well as writing strongly worded complaints in the hopes that this will somehow speed up the process of bringing PSN back to life.

However, amongst the hundreds and thousands of comments, a thought suddenly occurred to me… What did we ever do before playing games online. Thinking back to my first mobile – the Nokia 3210 with lightning strike fascia, I couldn’t help but wonder what I ever did before mobile phones came around. [click to continue…]

We spoke of Black Ops’ latest piece of downloadable content that was mistakenly outed by a retailer in Australia towards the beginning of the month. However, we are now able to divulge a little more information as well as a preview trailer of Escalation.

Unfortunately for PS3 and PC gamers, the DLC will be heading, once again, straight for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console. Though other computer and console owners will be receiving theirs a few weeks later. [click to continue…]

Sonic 4 Episode 1 was good but just good. With a few too many physics problems and other little niggles took away from the experience of racing around the place with a little blue hog from hedge.

Sonic Generations however, seems to be coming together quite well from what we’ve seen so far especially more recently as Sega have a released another short video showing 2 differing but altogether great modes of gameplay featuring both old and new versions of Sonic. [click to continue…]

Yep, if you can’t tell by the foreign tweet or the title for that matter then just to make it crystal clear… Final Fantasy VI will be coming to Sony’s PlayStation Network.

It’s been a good couple of months now since Dead Money arrived as an additional piece of downloadable content for the latest in the Fallout series – New Vegas. February 22nd to be exact. So we’re about ready for some new content.

It just so happens that what was originally sourced via Duck and Cover, Eurogamer reports that a since pulled video from YouTube purports to a new piece of DLC for Fallout: New Vegas which is said to be named as ‘Honest Hearts’. [click to continue…]

Sonic’s been around for quite a while now, 20 years in fact and to celebrate that anniversary SEGA has released a teaser trailer via the blue hedgehog’s own Facebook page.

20 years is a long time and is definitely a testament to Sonic’s creators in producing this gaming icon of the last century. The list of games with his name in the title is pretty extensive to say the least and some considerably better than others. [click to continue…]

It seems that GAME Australia spoke sooner than it should’ve done as details of a new map pack have been released a little prematurely.

Given the title ‘Escalation’, you’ll get to shoot til’ your heart’s content across maps including The Zoo, Convoy, Hotel, Stockpile and a zombie map dubbed “Call of the Dead”. It seems though, that this new information came perhaps a little earlier than it should have done as the details we have so far, came from the GAME website in Australia had later got pulled from the site. Killzone 3 came out last month on the 22nd and was met with critical acclaim and great reviews. Action is great, story is great, characters are great. Ok, so I love the game, especially the jetpacks but I’m certainly not the first and won’t be the last to say that. To add to the multiplayer side of things, new DLC will be making it’s way to the PS3, just to let you know. [click to continue…]

Crysis 2 still on top

by Martyn on April 6, 2011 · 0 comments

Beating the likes of Motorstorm Apocolypse whcih didn’t even get into the top ten with Zumba Fitness and Lego Star War III: The Clone Wars coming in second and third places respectively, Crysis 2 has been enthroned in the topspot yet again for a second week.

While Homefront, though including a great multiplayer experience, falls short from it’s campaign mode, so this comes in at number 5. That said, Homefront is still an intriguing look into an alternate future USA. [click to continue…]
